Conditions of Sale:
In all options the lot is to be
cleared of all house parts. Foundation rubble may be
left and the church will remove when the site is
cleaned. If required, the cellar may only be filled
with dirt. The well under the back porch should be
checked to assure it will not sink or cause other
safety hazards during house removal.
Liability & indemnity: All liability is the
responsibility of the buyer. This is an old house
and as with any old house the materials used are old
and may contain hazardous materials. By presenting a
bid, the bidder is accepting the materials as they
exist and accepts full responsibility. Additional
liability and indemnity information is contained in
the Bid document.
Preferred Option 1:
Buyer moves the house in sections to a site over 4-6
weeks from start of site work. Possible contact: Heavy
Hauler who moved the Chandler house> Oswalt Heavy
Rigging, Batesburg, S.C.
Option 2: Buyer disassembles the house on site in
60 days. House is cleared in 90 days from start of site
work.
Option 3: House sale by auction
of the entire structure (if reasonable bids are not
received)
Option 4:
House is placed on the
internet EBAY for sale (if reasonable bids are not
received)
Bids: In writing to College Street
Baptist Church Property & Space Team. State option number
chosen or other proposal; plans for removal, proposed
schedule and responsible party. If you are planning to bid
please contact the church office and have your name placed
on the list. You may want to consider an option to bid as a
team. Bids are to be delivered to the church Office at 401
South College Street, Walhalla, SC.
Bid conditions: The complete bid document and bid
conditions are available at the at the College Street
Baptist church office at 401 College Street, Walhalla, 29691. Bid
document is to be signed on each page and submitted with the
bid. to the church office. The office will retain a list of
bids with the signature of the bidder. A signature and
acceptance is required from the office when the bid is
received and listed. Bidders may see the list of who
submitted a bid. The bids will be listed separately and open
to all bidders after accepted and reviewed by the property
team.
Bids will be received and held in confidence
until accepted by the property team. Bids will be opened by
the property committee when received and discussions may
start with the bidders. The College Street Baptist
Property Committee will make the decision on the buyer.
the Property Committee reserves the right to award
the bid based on the option that is in the best interest of
the church and the community. Property committee reserves
the right to reject a bid or all bids and sell by another
option.
Timeline: Bidding will be closed on July 1, 2008 or
30 days from the issue of this offering unless a bidder
requests an extension and it is granted.
Proposed acceptance date of bid: July 1, 2008 if
sale by bid is the accepted method.
Price: Suggested minimum bid $15,000 or best offer
