Church Renewal Worship Event Was Held On Sunday, May 15
Special Guest Speaker - Bob Foy, North American Mission Board

Combined Sunday School classes met in the gym for Bob's Presentation. Click each picture for larger image.

From Pastor Ken: On Sunday, May 15th, we enjoyed having Bob Foy and his wife Phillis as our guests in Sunday School, in worship and in our Church Council meeting. Bob represents our North American Mission Board and the NC Baptist Convention. He has been leading Church Renewals for a number of years now as a layman. Thanks so much to everyone who attended the Church Council meeting following Sunday School and Worship services. We have been praying for a clear answer to the question, "Lord, should we enter into a time of Lay Renewal and Church Revitalization?

At the end of our meeting we made the following decision: We have agreed to recommend that we enter into the “Church Renewal” Weekend the weekend of October 7,8 and 9, 2016. August 14 is the date for training for our steering committee members. However, we want to seek additional input from church members regarding their interest etc. Bob will hold those dates for us while we seek to get more consensus from others who were in attendance today and from our Deacon Body. Mike Thrift has agreed to seeking the thoughts of our deacons too. Bob has suggested another interim idea. He will send me some dates and churches that are going through the first weekend event in which we may attend Friday and Saturday as guest members to experience some of what these churches are doing. If you would be interested in this let me know.

Please give this your prayers. If you have questions or comments please let us know. In the meantime keep praying for the Lord's will.

Spring Finale Celebration - Sunday, May 1, 6:30 pm

Preschool Choir Presentation. Click each picture for larger image.

Our M*A*R*K CLUB (Music and Recreation for Kids) and BIBLE QUEST ministries held their Spring Finale Celebration for the 2015-16 school year on Sunday evening, May 1. Following the MARK Club classes, there was a wonderful time of fellowship with the children and their families! Then the Preschool, K-2nd, and 3rd-5th Choirs celebrated the finale and "graduation" with the congregation through a wonderful music program. Thanks to parents, family and friends for attending with the children for this special fellowship, meal and music presentation. What a special time! Thanks for your great support throughout the year, and if you have not helped in either of these ministries before, be thinking and praying about your involvement this fall.
