Our Operation NOAH Rebuild Summer Mission Trip is Complete
Our mission trip to New Orleans is complete. Forty-five members of CSBC made the journey and returned home with a new understanding of just what happened four years ago during Hurricane Katrina. Gentilly Baptist Church was the staging area for our group. We slept, showered and ate using their renovated gymnasium. Rebuild efforts similar to ours have resulted in Southern Baptist work on over 1600 homes in the New Orleans area. The rebuild effort has been extended to December 2009 in hopes of completing additional projects. In addition to our rebuild efforts, our youth used the Beaverdam Association's "block party" trailer and equipment to help spread the Good News of God's love to scores of youth in the Gentilly area of New Orleans. Our plans are to set aside a night this summer to bring a report about our trip. We will have a "beignets and coffee" fellowship and see some wonderful pictures of the area and of some of the work of our youth and adults.
