Ark Encounter Trip - September 26-29, 2017

We have had an overwhelming response to this exciting trip in September. We have filled the bus and now have a waiting list. Just a reminder that full payment is due August 1st. As of this moment we have 53 that will embark on a wonderful time together.

Deacon Elections - The Month of August

August is the month we elect deacons. Each deacon is elected to serve a three-year term. One third of the deacon body is elected each year. Our deacon election process begins the first Sunday of August (August 6th) with each church member asked to nominate up to 6 names to be considered.

The deacon chairman and his designates will tally those nominations that day and begin asking if those with the most nominations will serve if elected. The list of 12 names is then published the second Sunday of August (August 13th). You are asked to pray for the Lord to raise up the 6 names that will fill the new terms.

On the third Sunday of August (August 20th) the church will vote for up to six names from the ballot of twelve to serve as deacons. The top six vote recipients will be announced. All newly elected deacons will attend the September meeting of the deacons (September 10th). New deacons will be ordained during the month of September and all deacons begin a new year term in October. together.

College Street's Tiny Christian Library is Now Open!
Borrow, Read, Return: No Record Keeping, No Charge!

It’s not high tech and it doesn't replace our real, free, and much larger brick-and-mortar church library, but our prayer is that this tiny structure will help us share the love of Christ through the written word, and take His Gospel message outside our church walls and into the community.

Blease Harper, one of our Gideons, wanted to bring the take-a-book, return-a-book idea to the sharing of the Gospel message, and was inspired to build a little replica of a country church to house free literature, study Bibles, devotionals, children’s books, and even CDs. The tiny yet beautiful structure is installed between the office/food pantry and church parking lots. Click here for a larger picture.

Tell your friends! Take, share, return - no record keeping, no charge! The Tiny Christian Library belongs to everybody and anyone can use it. It was created with the desire to connect our church family with our local neighbors – even those we have not yet met!

Thanks to everyone who helped in any way with this project, and especially to Blease for the construction and installation; Brenda Mangan, who painted the library and designed and lettered the Borrow, Read, Return sign; and to Jean Thomas, our librarian/steward.

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.   Matthew 7:7
